The Italian rider aiming at the top-3 in this year's World Supersport edition

Roberto Tamburini is preparing for another season in the Supersport World Championship with high hopes, as he joined the San Carlo Team Italia – Puccetti Racing Team at the beginning of the year. "I'm really happy to be part of the San Carlo Team Italia – Puccetti Racing Team and confident for the season ahead" said Roberto Tamburini. "I would like to thank San Carlo, the Italian motorcycling federation and team manager Manuel Puccetti for the opportunity and for becoming part of this fantastic project."

Tamburini makes no mystery of the fact that the door to the team opened up once another rider chose to take a different path: "The rider chosen to race with the team was initially Franco Morbidelli, but in the end he decided to move to Moto2 and so at the end of November I got a call from the team. From then onwards we worked to reach an agreement for the season that was good for both parts."

After the encouraging performance of last month's debut test with his new squad, the 23 year old from Italy cannot wait to start the season: "We did a test last month at Almeria and I managed to get a good feeling with the bike despite it was the first time on the ZX-6R. It's a great machine, just as I expected. I felt immediately comfortable with all the guys in the team, they are really professional and competent and their way of work is completely different to what I was used to in my previous experiences. I think I have the chance to improve further as a rider and make that step forward I've been looking for. My goal is to end up within the top-3 in the Championship, score as many podium finishes as I can and fight for the race win."
